  1. Plug the USB drive into your PC.
  2. Open the software that was installed on the USB drive. This software will usually be called “Format”.
  3. Click on the “Format” button.
  4. The software will ask for your name and password. You’ll need these to format the PS4 hard drive.
  5. After you’ve provided these information, the software will start formatting the hard drive.
  6. The process of formatting the PS4 hard drive will take a few minutes. Once it’s finished, your PS4 hard drive will look different than when it was first formatted!
